The attachment to vine-dressers tradition is very important
for the Pichierri family. The history of this firm is closely
connected to the grand father-figure Gaetano Pichierri, farmer
from birth, who used to farm fruitful vineyards of Primitive.
Further on, he refined his knowledge of vine-dresser in the
wine growers' cooperatives of Sava known, since the beginning
of 1990, on all national territory cause of its oenologists
Don Amerigo Mancini and Guido Calò.
In the immediate postwar period, the Pichierri family, still
guided by the father-figure, Gaetano, started his own production
of selected wines in a winery , leaving to his sons Cosimo,
Vittorio, Roberto and Aldo the duty to continue the great tradition
of the family.
In the 70's they started bottling to better divulge wine productions
of Sava.
Constant quality improvement of Primitive wine in dry and natural
sweet types is the password for the Pichierri 's winery; this
has permitted the achieved high quality, and a modest export
towards the United States, Canada, Sweden, Germany, Switzerland
and Japan.
Nowadays, the Pichierris continue with pride their job of "wine
artisans" (a definition that they prefer) in a continuous
and rigorous way, improving the quality of wines produced in
their winery in order to satisfy all sophisticated palates giving
them the good nectar of the land of Sava.
